Prevention and Control of Infection
At Chilton House we take great pride in the measures we adopt to minimise the risk of infection.
We adopt universal precautions issued by the Department of Health and all our staff are trained in the prevention of cross infection. Our nursing and care staff receive regular updates in the management of wounds and dressing techniques.
Our head chef in the kitchen maintains very high standards in the sourcing, preparation, storage and cooking of food. All appropriate staff are trained in food safety and hygiene.
We have a dedicated housekeeping team who maintain rigorous standards of cleanliness. After each room has been vacated special equipment is used routinely to decontaminate the whole room and bathroom. We feel this ensures peace of mind in an area that has created so much anxiety for all residents coming from hospital or other care facilities.
