Nursing and Plans of Care
The Deputy Matron / Head of Care is supported by a team of qualified nurses who are registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. There is a Registered Nurse on duty 24 hours a day at Chilton House. The nurse is supported by a team of nursing assistants who are qualified to NVQ Level 3. It is the Registered Nurse who will discuss and develop your plan of care with you shortly after your arrival.
The plan will determine what care is required, for example observations of temperature, pulse and blood pressure and any wound dressings that you might need. We will also discuss some recovery goals with you, to help you gain optimum independence before you leave us. Initially and should you need it, we provide help with personal care such as help with walking to the lavatory and assistance with bathing, showering and getting dressed.
We can also access the help of specialist nurses in the community to complement our in-house knowledge and skill. Our aim is to make you feel safe in the knowledge that this is indeed the perfect environment for recovery and that you are an equal partner in your own specific plan matched to your precise needs and goals.
